Superior Knowledge for Decision-Makers: EPIA Presents Current Figures for the Photovoltaic Market at Intersolar Europe
According to the EPIA, more than 40 gigawatts (GW) of PV power systems were installed worldwide in 2014, with which the global total capacity reached approximately 177 GW last year. The leader in the solar boom is China, followed by Japan and the United States. In five short years, according to the forecast by the association, the total capacity could triple to 550 GW. How the markets will develop in detail is shown in the “Global Market Outlook for Photovoltaics 2015-2019”. The report will be presented on June 9 during the opening session of the Intersolar Europe Conference.
On the European market the installation was at around 7 GW last year according to the EPIA. Europe remains an extremely important player in the field of photovoltaics, as great expertise has been developed over the past decades, an expertise which is now employed in its global expansion. Many exhibitors at the trade fair will demonstrate this, and share their fundamental know-how at the Intersolar Europe Conference.
A look into the future of PV markets
With the ‘Global Market Outlook for Photovoltaics’, the EPIA presents an important foundation for future decisions at Intersolar Europe. The report evaluates the global solar markets and provides an outlook on the developments within the next five years. As part of the Intersolar Europe Conference, the results of the reports for Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas will be presented in five “Global PV Markets” sessions.
