KaMin Receives Consecutive Awards for Safety Excellence
In 2013, KaMin logged over 697,000 operator hours with only one injury, resulting in an impressive 0.29 injury rate. Other companies in the category reported an average 2.99 injury rate for their operations. With the most operator hours in the Medium Company Category, KaMin was one of only five companies in that category to have one or zero reportable injuries.
Each year, this Safety Achievement Award recognizes the individual member company by size category with the best reportable injury rate across their U.S. and non-U.S. mining sites in North America. The IMA-NA safety recognition awards program is run in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA).
