GM Korea Reports January Sales of 62,042 Vehicles
GM Korea’s domestic vehicle sales in January were down 19.6 percent from 10,006 vehicles sold in the same month of last year. Sales were impacted by the reduced number of working days due to the Lunar New Year holiday and a temporary shutdown of some assembly lines for equipment upgrade.
“We expect sales to continue growing in 2012 with the recently launched Chevrolet Captiva 2.0 diesel model and the new Perfect Black high-end Chevrolet Cruze model,” said GM Korea Director of Domestic Sales and Marketing Kiin Sung. “GM Korea will continue to strengthen our domestic sales through the aggressive marketing of our individual products.”
GM Korea’s exports in January of 54,001 vehicles were down 7.5 percent compared with the same month in 2011. In January, GM Korea also exported 91,741 complete knockdown (CKD) kits of parts and components to be assembled into vehicles.
