Smaller and Lighter X-Ray Scanner ‘Rayscan Plus’ Released
Rayscan Plus had its size and weight greatly reduced with this upgrade. The size was reduced by about 40% to enhance space utility, while reducing the weight to about 11kg which is nearly half 20kg of the existing product to allow more convenient use.
Especially, the brightness of LED lighting can now be adjusted according to the brightness of the film, and the functionalities of ‘autosizing’ which automatically recognizes film size and ‘autofeeding’ which automatically feeds film were added so that X-ray films can be easily handled at hospitals.
Rayscan Plus is a product which escapes the existing method where X-ray films had to be stored and moved, and allows one to scan the X-ray films and store the digitalized data.
It takes 5 seconds to scan one X-ray film, which can be stored not only in DICOM 3.0 which is the medical imaging standard, but also in formats such as BMP, JPEG, and others. After scanning, the PACS viewers can be installed on the PC in the doctor’s office so that inspection and examination can be executed easily and safely in the office without the need to carry the film.
Besides, it provides PACS linkage additional functionality which allows one to view the ultrasound equipment, CT, or endoscopic images being used in the hospital without printing but through the viewer on the computer in the doctor’s office.
DIMEDI CEO Yun Nam said “we are introducing diverse features and slim design with this upgrade release, and the convenience and efficiency in practical use have been improved” and that “Rayscan Plus digitalizes X-ray films and cuts the cost on personnel expenses and transportation at hospitals, contributing to an easier management and operation of hospitals.” (Inquiries: superny@dimedi.co.kr, kslee@dimedi.co.kr)
