Citibank Korea donates network equipment to 13 universities and a training institute

SEOUL--(Korea Newswire)--Citibank Korea (CEO Yung-Ku Ha, www.citibank.co.kr) donated network equipment to 13 local universities and training institutes including Kyunghee, Dongguk, and Ajou Universities. On June 29, 2011, the Bank held a ceremony at its Incheon IT Center to celebrate the delivery of the equipment

A total of 195 used networking equipment including 18 large switches and 177 small/ medium sized switches and routers were delivered to 12 local universities and 1 training institute.

CKI’s decision was made with an objective to nurture young talent for the growth of local IT industry, and the 195 network devices were donated to educational institutions that run Cisco Networking Academy. Donated equipment will be extensively used for students’ practice and exercise in 12 local universities (Kyunghee, Far East, Korea Nazarene, Daeduk, Dongguk, Tongmyong, Dongseo, Silla, Ajou, Yeungnam, Yuhan, and Hanshin) and 1 training institute (Chungbuk Human Resources Development Institute)

Dept. Head Moongul Kim of CKI Technology Infrastructure & Control Dept. said, “We hope that our support will be helpful for students to acquire knowledge and develop themselves and eventually grow into future IT leaders in our society.”

CKI’s IT Center previously donated 100 PCs to the Federation of Korean Industries last April to help children from low income families
