New administration's vision and goals made public

Seoul--(뉴스와이어)--The goals of the new Administration and the design of a poster of them have been decided on. They will be used by Government ministries and agencies beginning next week. Deviating from the past style of calligraphy, the new design is intended to give a fresh image. The nation's vision of becoming an 'advanced and prestigious country' ultimately aims at 'prosperous people,' 'compassionate society' and 'strong nation.' The five goals by sector are 'Government Serving the People,' 'Lively Market Economy,' 'Active Welfare,' 'Country Rich in Talent' and 'Contributing Member of the International Community.' One of the goals originally drawn up by the Presidential Transition Committee was a 'Global Korea,' but after further discussion and deliberation, we decided to replace it with a 'Contributing Member of the International Community,' which sounds much better.

Some local papers have recently reported about a possible meeting between Presidents Lee Myung-bak and George W. Bush at Camp David. As it is not fixed yet, we can't confirm it at the moment. There might have been some discussion among reporters, but I want to make it clear again that it is an unwritten rule in the Cheong Wae Dae press center that reporters should refrain from making speculative reports, especially about the itinerary of the President and the schedule and agenda of the President's visits to other countries. In that regard, I ask for your voluntary cooperation.
