Korea and France partnership for industrial clusters
On June 13, government officials from the two countries met in Seoul to facilitate exchanges of information including technology commercialization. Both sides also recognized the need for joint studies and seminars about industrial clusters. In addition, they will explore ways to promote trade and investment activities between companies housed within industrial clusters.
Both Korea and France have actively pursed national projects to develop regional industrial complexes into industrial clusters in which businesses work together with regional universities and research institutes for R&D (research and development) projects.
In Korea, the government has developed eight industrial clusters nationwide with specialties such as machinery, automobiles, medical equipments, and machinery parts.
